Zephyr Halima is a recurring character in the Apple TV+ series Foundation. She is from Mirrus Twelve and is a Zephyr positioning herself to be the next Proxima. Zephyr Halima is portrayed by T'Nia Miller, first appearing in the episode "Death and the Maiden".

Biography[]

Hailing from Mirrus Twelve, Halima Ifa was born into faith and believes in Luminism. After earthquakes affected her world, she led to the recovery effort and became the world's saviour. She has been Zephyr for less than a year and gained traction among the people, and is an opponent of Zephyr Gilat.[2] She wants a return to the Primary Octavo, a pre-Imperial script that holds that the soul cleaves to only one body. This interpretation of scripture is considered to be heretical by Empire due to the cloning program of the Genetic Dynasty.[1]

When Brother Day arrives at the Salt Palace, Halima greets him alone, having petitioned the Ring of Zephyrs, citing that given the sombre nature of the visit with the Proxima's passing, a more low-key greeting was appropriate. She offers Brother Day a drink and he turns this down. Later, at the service for the Proxima, Halima makes a rousing speech which hints at her disdain for the current state of the Galactic Empire.[2]

The speech that Zephyr Halima gave strikes a chord with citizens, and it is indicated that she is now the frontrunner to become Proxima. Zephyr Hamila is visited by Brother Day outside The Spiral, as she tends to those who attempted The Spiral and had injuries as a result. She feels she is able to see through Brother Day's attempts to show his understanding of The Spiral, and upon being asked what she wants, she says she wants to end the genetic dynasty.[3]
