Advocate Xylas is a character in the Apple TV+ series Foundation. He is the lead advocate at the tribunal prosecuting Hari Seldon. Xylas is portrayed by Alexander Siddig, appearing in the episode "The Emperor's Peace."
Biography[]
Advocate Xylas serves the Galactic Empire, and was the lead prosecutor in the tribunal of Hari Seldon and Gaal Dornick. He intended to prove that Seldon's use of Psychohistory to predict the eventual fall of the Empire within five hundred years was designed to erode trust and faith in the Empire itself. Xylas questioned Hari about his work directly, and the nature of Psychohistory itself. After learning that only Gaal Dornick had a mind capable of understanding Seldon's equations, Xylas shifted his questioning to her and found that she agreed with the predictions.[1]
