Surah is a gas giant[1] within the Surah System. At some point in its history, Surah collided with the planet Dol; Dol split into three moons known as Maiden, Mother, and Crone, which orbit the planet.[2] When a Proxima dies, projectiles are launched into Surah from the Maiden, creating a rippling effect in the gas clouds. This display is broadcast to the Imperial Palace on Trantor.[1]
In 12,392 Era Imperial, Surah was destroyed by the Novacula along with its moon, the Maiden. The blast from the Novacula cored through Surah before striking the Maiden. Cleon23 ordered its destruction in retaliation for the Luminists siding with the Galactic Council and Cloud Dominion to hand Trantor over to the Mule as a form of appeasement.[3]
