The bombing of Trantor Station and the Star Bridge.
The Bombing of the Star Bridge was a terroist act commited by individuals from Anacreon and Thespis against the Galactic Empire. In 12,067 Era Imperial, two bombers—one Anacreon and one Thespin—boarded Trantor Station with subcutaneous nano-lace explosives embedded in their wrists. The Anacreon bomber took a car down the stalk, detonating the explosive and severing the tether from the orbiting station. The Thespin bomber detonated his explosive on the station itself, exposing large portions to the void of space. While Trantor Station remained in orbit, the tether fell to Trantor itself, wrapping around the planet like a garotte and cutting through fifty levels on the planet. The casualty total was estimated at 100 million.[1] Several weeks after the bombing, the wreck of Trantor Station still floated in orbit, along with 127,000 bodies.[2]
