A cryopod was a spacefaring craft, used in emergency situations. They were equipped aboard Imperative-class vessels such as the Deliverance. Once launched from a ship, the crypod would place the single occupant into a state of cryogenic suspension. Gaal Dornick was placed in one by Raych Foss to escape the Deliverance after he killed Hari Seldon.[1]
