A slow ship was a type of starship that did not utilize a jumpdrive. As a result, any slow ship would take months or years to reach their destination. The Imperative-class Deliverance was a slow ship, used by the Foundation to transport their colonists to the planet Terminus. The trip took nearly five years to travel from Trantor to Terminus.[1]
