Biography[]

Early Life[]

As a child, Phara and her brother Ilex were playing in a forest on Anacreon when the Galactic Empire bombarded their home with neutron bombs. Ilex was killed in the bombardment, while Phara was injured.[1] Phara lost her left eye and developed scars across her body after the bombing; she was only around five or six years old at the time. In the wake of the assault, Phara was left as an orphan after her father died and her mother succumbed to thyroid cancer..[2] Phara pushed herself to be named the Grand Huntress of War, outliving her own life expectancy three times over.[1]

Terminus[]

Phara led a force of Anacreons to Terminus, making camp inside the wreck of the slow ship Deliverance. They are discovered by Salvor Hardin, whom they take captive.[4] Phara says they are scrappers and they want the ship's navigation module to help them travel to new worlds. They take Salvor prisoner, and Phara wants to be taken to the Foundation Tower. Phara forces Salvor to take her through the perimeter fence, but is surprised by Salvor who drives the vehicle towards the Vault, causing Phara to be rendered unconscious by the null field. She awakens in a Foundation building, where she is interrogated by Salvor and continues to say she wants the navigation module after being questioned.[2]

Phara is moved to the Foundation Tower so the Imperial commander, Kray Dorwin, can speak with her. When they reach the tower, Phara begins to scream and then detonates a field disruptor. This knocks out the shield that protects Terminus City, allowing the Anacreon forces to attack. Phara takes Salvore's mother, Mari, hostage where she holds up in curation storage where she meets Salvor. Phara says she wants the crew manifest from The Deliverance and they were not going to get it until they threatened the people of the Foundation.[5]

After Salvor fires, Phara is shot and forced to escape. She fights Salvore and wins, and takes her and Mari to a balcony on the tower. It is there that Phara explains what the Foundation did to her people while the citizens on Terminus are attacked by the Anacreons.[5]

The assault continues on the citizens of Terminus. Phara questions Lewis Pirenne about the original crew aboard the Deliverance, to get set for a plan to prepare and fly a jump-capable starship. Phara and crew threaten the selected crew for this mission, saying that if they disobey them, the Anacreon forces left on Terminus will attack citizens there as punishment.[6]

The Invictus[]

Phara leads the ship to the Invictus - a powerful weapons platform the Empire used to use. Phara has her own plans for it. Phara leads the group into the ship - but not without casualties.[7] While aboard the ship, Phara leads the group towards the bridge, suffering further casualties. Reaching the bridge, Phara and Rowan are turned on by Salvor and Lewis and are locked on the other side of the bridge door. They are able to override the door but are too late.[8] As Phara and Rowan attempt to overrun Salvor and Lewis, The Invictus makes its next jump. Phara goes unconscious and remains so after the jump is complete.[9]

After eventually waking, Phara is able to evade capture of Thespis forces and captures a Thespis ship. She makes her way down to Terminus as the Foundation, Anacreon, and Thespis forces face each other down. Phara destroys the hovering Thespis ships and lands, holding its guns on Foundation and Thespis forces, as the Anacreons go free and are allowed to arm themselves. Pointing guns at Salvor, Phara listens as Salvor explains a plan to work together and share the Invictus. Phara disagrees with this plan and prepares to shoot Salvor, but Rowan stands in the way. The Vault unleashes energy and Phara fires a ship's canons at it. While distracted, she is killed by Salvor who shoots her with the Grand Huntress' bow.[9]
