Jaegger Fount is a recurring character in the Apple TV+ series, Foundation. He is the Warden on Terminus. Jaegger is portrayed by Holt McCallany, first appearing in "In Seldon's Shadow."
Biography[]
Warden Jaegger Fount is awoken, along with other Terminus City residents, by an alarm that hasn't been heard in 138 years. The Vault is opening and Jaegger meets with Director Sef Sermak, Brigadier Manlio, and Councilor Sutt to work out a plan.[1] Warden Fount welcomed Poly Verisof back to Terminus, convincing Director Sermak to wait for his arrival before having a meeting of the Foundation's leadership about their plans for the Vault. Fount told Poly that he planned to meet with the Prophet privately, and that Poly would essentially be on crowd control for the occasion. Poly was angry and believed that he should be the one to talk to the Prophet as he was the last living witness of the previous opening of the Vault. Fount was blunt and told him that he smelled the liquor on him and signs of substance abuse.[2]
Fount, Varia and another watchman approached the Vault as crowds from Terminus City looked on. Fount asked Seldon to come forth, but the Prophet remained inside. However, the Vault grounded itself as it had over a century previously and a doorway appeared. Fount believed it was an invitation, and announced to the onlookers that he would go inside. As he spoke, Fount was lifted off the ground. In pain, he repeated the words "Hober Mallow", finishing with "Get Hober Mallow!" as he was disintegrated by the Vault.[2]
