Biography[]

Felice Quent was a member of the Foundation, serving as their Ambassador to the Galactic Empire.[1] Devoted to the Foundation and Seldon's teachings, she believed so much that she willingly allowed herself to live on a foreign world to serve them.[2] Quent had been in the position for thirty years by 12,392 Era Imperial, and was well acquainted with Brother Dusk. She attended a dinner hosted by Dusk and Brother Dawn, welcoming Zephyr Vorellis to Trantor. During the dinner, an aide told her that Kalgan had fallen. Her news was delayed, as the Empire was already well aware of the fact. Quent excused herself from the dinner to attend to the matter.[1]

Quent and Dusk met for drinks, and were joined by Dawn. With Dawn on the cusp of becoming Day, and Dusk due for ascension, it was a chance for Quent and the young Emperor to begin their own working relationship. During the drinks, Quent confirmed that the Mule's conquest of Kalgan had taken the Foundation by surprise. Dawn, however, was more concerned with the pirate himself than his ownership of Kalgan. Quent pressed him on the issue, admitting that if Empire was concerned, then she was as well, and wondered what he knew.[2]

Quent was contacted by Mayor Indbur and Ebling Mis. Ebling told them both that the Vault would open at the next crossing eclipse, and that Seldon had informed him that the Empire had the Prime Radiant since the sack of Terminus. Quent was furious, knowing that for as long as she had known and worked with Brother Dusk, he had never once mentioned it to her. Indbur also mentioned that Toran and Bayta Mallow were fugitives. Quent met with Dusk, who brought up the subject of the Mallows having abducted the Mule's balladeer, Magnifico Giganticus. Quent and Dusk verbally sparred over the incident, until Quent revealed that she knew the Empire was in the possession of the Prime Radiant. Dusk did not deny it, and in private he showed it to Quent. For Quent, being able to hold the Radiant was akin to handling a holy relic. Dusk activated the Radiant and showed her the predictions ending in four months. Quent told him that she wished she had know he had the Radiant, and Dusk conceded that he wished he had told her about it.[3]
