Eely Karvis is a recurring character in Season Three of the Apple TV+ streaming series Foundation. He is the engineer in charge of constructing the Novacula for Cleon23. Karvis is portrayed by Fisayo Akinade, first appearing in the episode "Shadows in the Math".
Biography[]
Eely Karvis was an engineer serving the Galactic Empire in 12,392 Era Imperial. Under the orders of Cleon23, Karvis constructed the Novacula, a superweapon of immense power that was essentially a "black hole bomb." As Cleon23's ascension approached, he intended it as a gift to Cleon25 to ensure his rule was strong. Karvis test fired the weapon for him, and the results pleased Cleon23. Karvis was eager for people to know that he had put death in Cleon23's hands, but the outgoing emperor was adamant that the weapon was a deterrent.[1] Karvis was aboard the Novacula with Dusk a short while later. A message arrived from Dawn, and Karvis. passed the message along to Dusk.[2]
