Biography[]

Kray Dorwin is a military officer serving the Galactic Empire. Following the loss of communications with the Outer Reach, Brother Dusk summoned Dorwin and ordered him to take his team to investigate. Dusk also ordered Dorwin to remind the citizens of Terminus that they needed to remain in better communication with the Empire.[1]

Commanding the Aegis, Commander Dorwin arrives at Terminus to find the Anacreons on the verge of attacking Terminus City. He demands to speak to Phara Keaen, but as she is brought to the Foundation Tower, she uses a field disruptor to bring down the settlement's shields. As the Anacreons attack, Dorwin orders the Aegis into combat. Approaching Terminus City, the Aegis is shot down by a flak cannon manned by the Anacreon soldier, Freestone.[3]

Dorwin survived the crash and was taken prisoner by the Anacreons. Phara Keaen needed him for a mission to recover a fabled Imperial warship, the Invictus, and he was conscripted for the task alongside several of the Foundation's specialist engineers.[4] During the voyage to the Anthor Belt, Dorwin attempted to record a message of what had happened since his arrival on Terminus via his neural link, but Phara Keaen interrupted him.[5] The boarding of the Invictus went ahead, and Dorwin used his Imperial nanites to allow him to open the airlock of the warship and board the vessel. His usefulness at an end, Phara shot Dorwin and left him adrift in space.[2]

Over a century later, Dorwin's body was found and his attempts to report on the situation came to the attention of Emperor Cleon XVII. They had believed that Dorwin and his ship have been destroyed by a mega-flare that had also wiped out the Foundation on Terminus. Demerzel reviewed intelligence from the Outer Reach that indicated that the Foundation was flourishing and forming an alliance.[5]
