Jiam Quarver is a character in the Apple TV+ series Foundation. She runs a biohacking facility on the dwarf planet Aethra. Jiam Quarver is portrayed by Laila Pyne in the episode "Preparing to Live."
General Information
Jiam Quarver runs an illegal biohacking facility on the dwarf planet Aethra, and was responsible for manufacturing the nano-lace explosives used by the terrorists who destroyed the Star Bridge over Trantor. Her facility is raided by Imperial forces under the direction of Demerzel in an effort to learn who perpetrated the attack. Quarver suffered a cervical spinal injury during the raid, rendering her unable to breath. A device was used to allow Quarver to breath, with Demerzel directly stating that whether or not she was allowed to live would depend on her having answers to questions regarding the bombing of the Star Bridge.[1]
