The Imperial Palace was the residence of the Genetic Dynasty and the seat of government of the Galactic Empire on Trantor. It was one of the few locations on Trantor to be able to naturally see night sky from the surface. The Palace was the location of the Mural of Souls,[1] as well as the extensive Imperial Gardens.[3]
The Emperors of the Galactic Empire lived in the Palace, ruling the Empire from the Throne Room.[1] The Principium Tower held the preserved form of Cleon I, the source of the genetic material that the rest of the Cleon Emperors were drawn from.[4]
